CONCORDIA - Partnership meeting at GeoZS, 19 January 2026

Interreg project partners CONCORDIA gathered in January for the second meeting, which took place at the GeoZS headquarters in Ljubljana. Together with the associated partners, we reviewed the current status of the project and prepared a roadmap for further work within the framework of the Collaborative Network for Coordinated Disaster Impact Assessment. The main objective of the project is to strengthen cross-border preparedness for earthquakes and landslides by setting up harmonised monitoring systems and tools that allow for faster real-time assessment of their impacts. In 2026, we will build on this objective by installing GNSS units at two landslides in the Vipava Valley to detect movements and complement the existing GeoS sensor network. We will continue work on landslide and rockfall warning maps and on a methodology for faster and more reliable assessment of the effects of earthquakes and landslides. These steps will make an important contribution to more effective protection and rescue measures and to the resilience of communities in the cross-border region.
