As part of the IAEA RER7017 project, Assoc. Prof. Nina Rman, Ph.D., participated in a course on the use of tritium and noble gases for dating groundwater using the tritium-helium method. Together with 16 researchers from 14 countries, she learned about the analytical and field methods used at the laboratory of the MTA Debrecen Research Institute, where Slovenian mineral and thermal waters are also frequently analyzed. These new interpretation methods will help us understand the groundwater flow in the Krška Basin, which we are studying as part of the ARIS project GWQualityPath, as well as the karst waters of the Pece Mountains, which we are investigating as part of the Interreg project Waterwise.
