A vacancy for a Systems Administrator VII/2 Specialist - Head of Unit Computer Infrastructure (DM code H097193) is hereby vacant at the following address OE Geological Information Centre - Computer infrastructure.

In addition to the general conditions laid down in the labour law rules, candidates applying for a vacancy must fulfil the following conditions:

• at least a specialisation in higher education (previous) or at least a university degree (previous) or at least a master's degree (second Bologna cycle)
• good knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• experience with network infrastructure and security practices
• experience with virtualisation and clouds

Job description:

• Planning the development of information and communication technology.
• Organisation and management of ICT work.
• Preparation of medium-term and annual plans for ICT.
• Maintenance and monitoring of servers and networks.
• Control over user accounts and access.
• Overseeing backup and data recovery.
• Monitoring system security and implementing safeguards.
• Control over documentation of procedures and configurations.
• Optimising the performance of systems and networks.
• Cooperation with external service providers and suppliers.
• Works under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Other work as assigned by the head of unit or the Director.

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience:

• Independent planning of ICT development and management of servers and network.
• Organisational and leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft server technologies and experience with orthodox solutions.
• Fluency in Slovenian and English.
• Motivation to improve your knowledge.
• Ability to work in an international team.

The successful candidate will be offered a permanent, full-time contract with a probationary period of 3 months.
