AlpFuturePaths develops shared approaches and practical tools to preserve safe and accessible alpine trails and mountain huts in the face of increasing climate change impacts. The project examines slope movement processes such as rockfalls, landslides, debris flows, as well as glacial areas and permafrost regions. The project brings together trail managers, alpine associations, research institutions, and public authorities to improve risk monitoring, adaptation planning, and the long-term management of alpine hiking infrastructure. Its overall goal is to strengthen the resilience of Alpine mountain areas while preserving their natural, cultural, and tourism value for future generations.
