Description of equipment

The Picarro L2130-i ultra-precision laser isotope analyser is designed for the measurement of δ18O/δD isotopic composition in water samples. The laser isotope analysers use CRDS (Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy) technology, which measures the differences in rotational-vibrational energy of molecules with different isotopic compositions. At the Geological Survey of Slovenia, we use the Picarro L2130-i laser isotope analyzer mainly to measure the isotopic composition of oxygen and hydrogen in precipitation and groundwater samples.

Access to equipment of equipment

Identification of groundwater origin (elevations of the hinterland, regional definition), mixing processes (mixing of groundwater and surface water), identification of aquifer recharge dynamics, etc.

Equipment rental

For external users, we measure the isotopic composition of oxygen and hydrogen in water samples. The price is set by the GeoZS internal price list or by agreement.
