The Central European Geoscience Information Consortium (CE-GIC), a consortium of geological institutions in Central Europe, met at GeoZS from 15 to 16 April 2025 to collaborate on geological data management and information systems development.

Participants from the geological surveys of Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia exchanged knowledge and experience in their fields:

• geoinformatics and data infrastructure
• application programming in geology
• standardisation and access to geological information

The event reaffirmed the importance of international cooperation in developing effective solutions for the use and sharing of geological data.
