Second WATERWISE Workshop – Water Resources in the Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark and Their Management, April 9, 2026
As part of the INTERREG project WATERWISE In April, we met in Šentlipš with representatives of the Geopark’s municipalities, water resource managers, and other land users. At the Karavanke Geopark management center, we presented to them where and why we conducted infiltrometer tests, as well as the preliminary results of monthly isotopic measurements of precipitation and springs. Through an interactive workshop, we refined the joint guidelines for the Pece cross-border pilot area, which will contribute to better management of the water cycle on both the Slovenian and Austrian sides of the Pece mountain range.
