AIMS partners meeting in Metzovo, Greece
On 8–9 October 2025, the partners of the AIMS Project held their 4th Transnational Project Meeting in Metsovo, hosted by the University of Patras.
The meeting started with an address by Mayor Marie-Christine Averof, who stressed the key role of innovation and cross-border cooperation in protecting mountain communities from natural hazards such as landslides. The partners reviewed progress in the development and testing of an AI-based avalanche monitoring and early warning system. Partner RomagnaTech presented the performance of the new AIMS data management platform. The event concluded with a field visit to the Metsovo landslide area, where participants got a first-hand insight into how data-driven monitoring enables early warning and proactive risk prevention.
