To mark its 80th anniversary, GeoZS has set up an outdoor exhibition titled “Beneath the Surface—Geosciences for the Cities of the Future” on Gallus Embankment in Ljubljana. The exhibition shows visitors how modern geosciences—through traditional field research, advanced geophysical measurements, remote sensing, laboratory analyses, and 3D modeling to elucidate the structure, composition, and dynamics of the Earth and its subsurface.

The exhibition focuses on the contribution of geoscientific solutions to safe urban development, effective management of natural resources, and adaptation to climate change in Ljubljana and other Slovenian cities.

The exhibition opened on August 28, 2026, on Gallus Embankment, and you can view it in person through Sunday, September 27, 2026. It is also available for viewing online. here.
