Vacancy for a Research Assistant VII/2-I - vacant

A vacancy exists for an Independent Expert Adviser in Research VII/2-II (in-house hydrogeological engineer), (DM code H027010) at OE Groundwater and hydrogeology.

In addition to the general conditions laid down in the labour law regulations, candidates applying for a vacancy in the Groundwater and Hydrogeology unit must fulfil the following conditions:

  • at least a specialisation in higher education (previous) or at least a university degree (previous) or at least a master's degree (second Bologna cycle)

Job description:

  • Acquiring, managing and implementing complex projects / managing a specialised segment of work in the OE
  • Performing professional tasks independently
  • Perform complex data processing
  • Advice in your field of work
  • Mentoring younger colleagues
  • Publication of expert contributions
  • Continuing education and keeping up with global developments
  • Work in the laboratory, in the field and underground if necessary
  • Work as directed by the project manager
  • Other work as assigned by the Head of Unit or the Director

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience:

  • With a technical degree
  • With experience in the field of work
  • With a category B driving licence
  • Knowledge of hydrogeological topics covering the basics of geology and hydrogeology
  • With the ability to analyse and process hydrogeological data
  • With the ability to work and communicate as a team
  • With a good knowledge of English
  • Basic knowledge of spatial data processing tools (ACAD, ArcGIS or QGIS)
  • Fieldwork is foreseen.

The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract for a renewable period of 2 years, with a probationary period of 4 months.
