GeoZS experts Dr Meta Dobnikar, Dr Slavko V. Šolar and Dr Snježana Miletić were among the speakers at the Raw Materials Week event, traditionally held annually in Brussels by the European Commission, the EU's flagship annual event on critical raw materials, the green transition and strategic security.

On 20 November 2025, Dr. Meta Dobnikar and Dr. Slavko V. Šolar participated in a thematic discussion on supporting Member States in the application of the UNFC classification for natural resources in the context of the implementation of the European Critical Raw Materials Regulation (EU CRMA). Dr. Meta Dobnikar presented the activities of the European International Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Mineral Resource Management (ICE SRM EU), including the new platform and UNFC Training Manual. Dr. Slavko V. Šolar informed the participants about the preparation of the guidelines for reporting to the UNFC and the work on the harmonization of the ABC1 classification and its translation into the UNFC. The thematic discussion continued in the Technical Session on 21 November 2025. Dr Slavko V. Šolar presented the implementation of the UNFC classification in reporting on the implementation of national research programmes under the CRMA, and Dr Snježana Miletić presented the design and implementation of the GSEU ICE SRM EU workshops for experts.
