Supply and demand of raw materials became crucial EU economic and political topics in the last decade. EU commission publishes an updated list of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) every three years from 2011 onwards.

A European Expert Network will contribute to expert advice in support of decision-making at the EU level covering all the raw materials and their value chains screened in the CRMs assessment which will result in new CRM list and updated raw materials factsheets in 2023.

Project objectives are:

• Improve EU official statistics and to further build the EU knowledge base of primary and secondary raw materials.
• Strengthen and develop an EU expert network and community covering all raw materials screened in 2020 the CRM assessment.
• Flexibly support the Commission in policy making related to CRMs in general or linked to specific applications or sectors; as well in relevant events organised by the Commission.
• Support the Commission in the analysis of the future supply and demand of raw materials, policy and technology gaps and innovation potential along the raw materials value chains.
