EIT RawMaterials RIS Hubs act as ambassadors of the EIT RawMaterials Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) in strategically important regions across Europe. Well embedded in their local raw materials ecosystems, they use their established networks and reputation to amplify the EIT RawMaterials mission by spreading knowledge about ongoing programmes, raising awareness, fostering matchmaking opportunities, and attracting new partners to participate in KIC activities. They also play a vital role in identifying project opportunities, supporting KAVA proposals, and promoting KIC calls.
The RIS Hub Adria aims to strengthen innovation performance and collaboration across the ADRIA region, primarily in Croatia and Slovenia, while extending its reach to Southeast European countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.
Founded in spring 2018, RIS Hub Adria has become a well-recognised “one-stop shop” for information, guidance, and support related to the EIT RawMaterials ecosystem. It continues to build innovation capacity, foster entrepreneurship, and connect regional stakeholders across the raw materials value chain.
Through tailored support programmes — from early-stage idea development to accessing KAVA, ESIF, or other regional and national funding mechanisms — the Hub assists innovators, start-ups, and potential partners in transforming ideas into impactful solutions. By encouraging strategic partnerships across knowledge, technology, and industry (KTI), RIS Hub Adria contributes to business creation, sustainable growth, and enhanced innovation capacity throughout the Adria region.
