Raw MatTERS Ambassadors at Schools

Content
The RM@Schools project focused on an innovative programme to make science education and careers in raw materials attractive to young people. RM Ambassadors (experts in some RM-related topics and trained teachers) educated students about mineral resources by involving them in experiments with RM-related hands-on educational kits, in excursions in industries, and in scientific dissemination activities.
Students had the opportunity to become Young RM Ambassadors (science communicators) themselves by creating educational materials about mineral resources for a wider audience, including videos, maps, comics, etc. They also worked with experts to support public events. Each year, local and international competitions for the best communication materials were organised, as well as an annual European conference for the programme participants. These events provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences in an atmosphere of integration and co-operation.
Teachers also had the opportunity to be trained as RM Ambassadors in schools and to develop new educational and communication materials together with students. All materials produced are available on the project website: https://rmschools.isof.cnr.it/resources/toolkits/.
