Hosting young researcher Barbara Čeplak in Portugal

Within the ERASMUS+ programme, the Mineral Resources and Geophysics Unit at the Portuguese Geological Survey - LNEG hosted a young researcher from GeoZS, Barbara Čeplak. She carried out geochemical analyses of tailings dumps and fluvial sediments in the Aljustrel Mining Park, mapping metal occurrence and scattering patterns with portable X-ray fluorescence equipment. Barbara is a PhD student and her PhD thesis covers research related to the geochemistry of sediments of the Mura River. During the exchange she deepened her knowledge of geochemistry and mineral resources and visited the mining areas of Lousal and Mina de S. Domingos.
