Activities under the MARGIN Project, April 2026
We're already more than halfway through the European project MARGIN, which focuses on how Alpine cities are coping with the effects of urbanization and climate change on groundwater. Ljubljana is one of the pilot areas. We collaborated with the National Institute of Biology on two fauna sampling campaigns in the intergranular aquifer, which took place in October and April. As part of the project, our team conducted groundwater temperature measurements in Ljubljana to calculate geothermal potential. We carried out measurements of temperature profiles in boreholes in collaboration with ARSO and JP VOKA SNAGA.
We also use short videos on YouTube to inform the general public about the importance of groundwater in cities and the risks associated with maintaining its good condition. You can watch the latest one here.
