The Geological Survey of Slovenia (GeoZS) has been involved in the EMODnet Geology project for more than a decade, contributing to the collection, harmonisation, and dissemination of marine geology data from European seas. During this period, the EMODnet Geology partnership has become one of the leading providers of publicly accessible harmonised marine geological data. The project develops harmonised maps and datasets on seabed substrates, seafloor geology and geological structures, coastal processes, hazards, resources, and palaeoenvironments.

EMODnet Geology provides open access to harmonised geological data products and metadata from an extensive network of geoscientific organisations across Europe, supporting a better understanding of the seafloor, its processes, and its resources. Data and products are delivered in accordance with international standards and are available at various scales, ranging from regional overviews to more detailed levels of information. The geographic coverage includes European regional seas and extends to the Caribbean Sea, ensuring broad and consistent access to marine geological information for a wide range of users. 

The following data products are available through the EMODnet Geology portal:

·        Seabed substrates, sedimentation rates, and seabed erosion indexes.

·        Seafloor geology: pre-Quaternary geology (lithology and stratigraphy), Quaternary geology, and geomorphology.

·        Coastal behavior: coastal migration, coastal types, coastal resilience and vulnerability.

·        Geological events and probabilities: earthquakes, submarine landslides and seabed landslide susceptibility, volcanoes, Quaternary tectonics, fluid emissions, tsunamis, etc.

·        Marine resources: aggregates, hydrocarbons, gas hydrates, marine placers, polymetallic nodules, critical and non-critical minerals, etc.

·        Submerged paleolandscapes: palaecoastlines, submerged landforms, springs, Last Glacial Maximum landscapes, sea-level index points

·        Entity indexes: locations of borehole and grab samples, seismic and multibeam survey locations.
