To mark the 80th anniversary of the Geological Survey of Slovenia, we present how modern geosciences, supported by traditional field mapping, advanced geophysical methods, remote sensing, laboratory analyses and 3D modelling, shed light on the structure, composition and dynamics of the Earth and its subsurface.

Find out how geoscientists contribute to the safe and sustainable development of cities, the efficient management of natural resources, the detection of emerging, invisible pollutants, the adaptation to climate change, and our coexistence with geologically- induced hazards. The exhibition showcases our research activities across Slovenia, with a particular focus on the challenges, characteristics and solutions associated with the development of urban spaces.

The exhibition is on display at Gallusovo nabrežje in Ljubljana, from August 28 through September 28, 2026, and is part of the "Science Month 2026" programme and this year's European Researches' Night.
