The UNESCO General Conference in Uzbekistan declares 13 September International Day of Caves and Karst. The proposal was submitted several years ago by the International Union of Speleology, based in Postojna, and the Slovenian National Commission for UNESCO. The International Day of Caves and Karst will be celebrated for the first time next year.
