Content

The postdoctoral project focusses on the investigation of the dynamics of gravity-driven regional groundwater flow in karstic alpine regions in western Slovenia. The aim of the project is to develop a suitable method for studying the dynamics based on field methods, laboratory analyses and mathematical modelling. Activities will focus on the development of an innovative methodology required to address the heterogeneous hydrogeological environments and the size of the flow field in combination with the potential impact of climate change on regional groundwater flow patterns and dynamics. The results will contribute to the long-term protection, sustainable management and improvement of the quantitative and qualitative status of groundwater resources in the Alps.
