As one of the representatives of the Expert Council "Aspiring UNESCO Geopark Kras-Carso", and as the Chair of the Slovenian National Committee of the IGGP, Dr Matevž Novak, Scientific Associate at GeoZS, participated in the 11th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks (UGGp), held in the UGGp Kütralkura in the Araucanía region, with its centre in Temuco (Chile), within the framework of the activities of the INTERREG ITA-SI project Kras-Carso II (https://11thconferenceggn.kutralkura.cl/). Martina Stupar from ZRSVN presented activities in the Kras-Carso Geopark with lectures and a poster. In the framework of the project, they took part in an expert excursion to the Atacama Desert before the congress, which took place from 3 to 7 September in the vicinity of San Pedro de Atacama.
