"making groundwater in the danube region visible"

5th - 7th october 2022, rogaška slatina - Slovenia

Slovenian Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists invites you to the 5th IAH CEG Conference, which will be held in Rogaška Slatina from 5th to 7th of October 2022.

The theme of the conference is “MAKING GROUNDWATER IN THE DANUBE BASIN VISIBLE”. The topic of groundwater will be highlighted this year as the theme of World Water Day 2022 is “Groundwater – making the invisible visible”.

Groundwater is recognised as an important issue and critical component of the environment. Its global recognition is reflected in the theme of World Water Day 2022, which this year is “Groundwater – making the invisible visible.” The Danube Region is highly dependent on groundwater, many urban settlements draw their drinking water from aquifers, there are large areas of ecosystems that depend on groundwater, and there are complex relationships between surface and groundwater. In addition, there are a growing number of open practical and scientific questions. In the countries of Central Europe and the Danube basin, hydrogeology has always been an important part of water engineering, water management and governance. The 5th Congress of the IAH Central European Group is the right place for networking, exchange and communication between hydrogeologists from the region.
