Content<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n PanAfGeo+ (2025-2029) is the third phase of the European Union's PanAfGeo flagship programme and builds on the successes of PanAfGeo-1 and PanAfGeo-2.<\/span><\/p>\n The programme is implemented in partnership with EuroGeoSurveys (EGS) and the Organisation of African Geological Surveys (OAGS) and is a joint effort that brings together European and African geological surveys to enhance technical capabilities, promote knowledge exchange and strengthen partnerships across the continent. Through this collaboration, the programme aims to build capacity in the geosciences and promote mutual learning. The main objective of the programme is to contribute to Africa's sustainable development by improving geological knowledge, resource management and the effective use of geoscientific data in policy and planning.<\/span><\/p>\n In addition, several sub-projects or country windows are planned, tailored to the needs of individual countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.<\/span><\/p>\n The Uganda Country Window<\/strong> is being implemented in partnership between the Geological Survey of Slovenia (GeoZS) (project leader), the Geological Survey of Uganda (DGSM) (co-project leader) and the Geological Surveys of the Czech Republic, Poland, Portugal and Finland in close cooperation with the EU Delegation to Uganda and relevant stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n The EUR 3.3 million sub-project aims to develop Uganda\u2019s mineral resources (focussing on advanced deposits) for further potential development in line with national, African and global environmental, social, governance and technical standards. The specific objectives of (1) data collection by facilitating and conducting the assessment of Uganda\u2019s critical and other mineral deposits, including exploration where appropriate, (2) strengthening the exploration and other capacities of the GGSM, and (3) promoting the assessed critical and other mineral deposits to attract investment will be achieved through four areas of work. These include (1) detailed planning, (2) data collection (environmental and social impact assessment for mineral targets where required, detailed geological mapping, geochemical surveys, ground geophysical surveys and modelling of deposits (trenching and diamond core drilling and resource estimation report), (3) capacity building (hands-on training for DGSM employees and graduates and procurement of equipment and reagents to support the DGSM laboratory) and (4) promotion of the assessed mineral targets (conferences, exhibitions).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/body><\/html><\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":939903,"template":"","vrsta":[35],"class_list":["post-488897","projekt","type-projekt","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","vrsta-aktivni"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
