{"id":913721,"date":"2026-03-05T15:39:19","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T14:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.geo-zs.si\/?p=913721"},"modified":"2026-04-01T15:39:48","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T14:39:48","slug":"predstavljamo-projekte-morpho-field-catch-aris","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.geo-zs.si\/en\/predstavljamo-projekte-morpho-field-catch-aris\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing projects - Morpho.field.catch (ARIS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong>Morpho.field.catch \u2013 Morphometry versus fieldwork: Classifying debris flow, debris flood and fluvial flow processes on alluvial fans influenced by carbonate bedrock catchments<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alluvial fans are fan-shaped deposits formed where water flows from mountain ravines spill onto the plains. Their formation is influenced by the steepness of the terrain, the size of the hinterland, the climate and the type of rock. These processes cannot always be correctly identified by numerical parameters alone, especially in areas dominated by carbonate rocks that are poorly friable into fine-grained sediments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project aims to investigate how the type of rocks in the hinterland affects the actual sedimentation process in the fan. By analysing LIDAR data, geological maps and fieldwork on fans in the Slovenian Alps, comparisons of morphometric indicators with the actual situation in the field will be made.
