On behalf of the Geological Survey of Slovenia and University of Ljubljana (Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering and Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering), it is our pleasure to invite you to take part in the 3rd Regional symposium on Landslides in the Adriatic-Balkan Region, ReSyLAB 2017 that will take place in Ljubljana (Slovenia), 11–13 October 2017. The symposium aims to gather the ICL ABN (International Consortium on Landslides, Adriatic-Balkan Network) members, as well as other respected experts, professionals and researchers from the region and beyond (including both the academic and industrial sector) that can relate to the symposium topic and rationale.

The main objective of the symposium is to provide a stimulating forum for geoscientists, engineers, professionals and decision makers concerned with landslide hazard and risks as well their impact on society - in the Adriatic-Balkan regions as well as worldwide. Symposium participants will have an opportunity to present papers related to the mapping, investigating, monitoring, analysis and mitigation of landslides, as well as case studies on innovative analysis techniques and solutions in oral presentations or in the form of posters during poster session. All participants are invited to submit the full paper to be published which will be peer-reviewed and published in the symposium proceedings, while keynote lectures and selected papers (one best paper per each symposium topic) will be published in the central Slovenian geological scientific journal (Geologija), indexed in Scopus.

The symposium will also offer the ICL ABN Round table devoted to implementation of ISDR-ICL Sendai partnerships 2015-2025 in the Adriatic-Balkan Regions, a photo exhibition from WLF4 Landslide photo contest, and two interesting field study tours (Landslides in the Vipava valley as a part of IPL-216 project and Potoška planina landslide as a part of IPL-188 project).

Official language of papers and presentation is English. The total number of expected symposium participants is around 100.

For any additional information, you can contact us by

We look forward to welcoming you in Ljubljana in October 2017.

Yours Sincerely,
Dr. Mateja Jemec Auflič
