70 Geological Wonders of Slovenia

Geological Survey of Slovenia celebrated the 70 years of its existence in 2016. To honour this event we joined efforts with the main geological institutions in Slovenia and published a first modern geological tourist guidebook of Slovenia. The A5-sized book consists of 204 pages where 70 exceptional geological phenomena from all Slovenian regions and 6 museum specimens are described and supplemented with picturesque photographs. The up-to-date scientific information are given in popular-science language and contain also facts about the phenomena’s economic value, e.g. for mining, vine growing, tourism, and about natural heritage sites. The guidebook is intended for all nature lovers and can be used for geotourism.
